ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Manny Pacquiao dominated a strangely passive Joshua Clottey from the opening bell Saturday to retain his WBO welterweight title.
With 50,994 fans – the biggest fight crowd in the U.S. in 17 years – cheering him on at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Pacquiao made sure the result was never in doubt.
Seven-time world champion and “Fighter of the Decade” Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and challenger Joshua Clottey pre-fight face off at Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
In as much as he has high regard for Manny Pacquiao, Joshua Clottey wouldn’t think twice engaging the Filipino World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion in fierce exchanges once only the two of them are inside the ring.
Boxing, according to Clottey, is nothing but business.
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS – Manny Pacquiao took center stage Tuesday in a public welcome “open workout” in Ballroom B at the Gaylord Texan resort just outside of Dallas.
Possibly 1,500 fans waited a few hours to be allowed into a roped off area with numerous security guards to view the seven – time world champion and pound for pound No. 1 fighter in the world from The Philippines work up a sweat.
