MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao wouldn’t mind facing Ricky Hatton a second time, just in case any of the other fights being lined up for the Filipino superstar doesn’t shape up.

One can make viable and laudable arguments why Pacquiao deserves the honor of being named the Fighter of The Decade. He has impressive wins over legendary figures of the sport. His wars with Mexico’s finest are in the record books and will be known to future generations. His climb through the weight scales and the fashion of which he conquers a division is matched only by a handful.

Donaire Exclusive: 'Pacquiao is my blueprint'INSPIRATIONAL: Donaire says Manny shows nothing is impossible

THE cream of the Philippines crop contains more than just Manny Pacquiao. Nonito Donaire burst onto the scene with an unexpected, yet brilliant, one-punch knockout of the heavily favoured IBF flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan in 2007. The clinical nature of his victory attracted praise and attention, yet served to repel the desired signatures of lucrative opponents. But the delightfully talented 27-year-old, who lives in California and now holds the interim WBA super-flyweight title, is determined to follow his countryman – and idol – “Pacman” into the big pay leagues, just like he has joined him in the pound-for-pound listings. Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KO’s) is the world’s top boxer today. Eight years ago nobody would have even considered him among the ten pound-for-pound best boxers.
