In 1975, Adornado began his PBA career with the Crispa Redmanizers and earned the distinction of being the very first PBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) and also the first PBA player to win the said award in back-to-back seasons in 1975 and 1976, leading Crispa to four PBA titles during that time including the very first recorded Grand Slam in 1976. He was a prolific scorer with a deadly outside shot. In an era where shooting coaches were unheard of, Adornado had a picture-perfect textbook jump-shot that was unstoppable especially in clutch situations. He is a three-time PBA Most Valuable Player in 1975, 1976 and 1981.
