Round 1: They’re feeling each other out, Grove trying to work his reach. Munoz gets a take down. Grove gets up but eats some shots by Munoz for it. Grove drops Munoz with an uppercut. Munoz grabs a leg and holds on for dear life. Grove hammering Munoz against the cage. Munoz won’t relent with the take down but Grove is defending well. The ref separates them. Grove tries for a choke but Munoz gets out and lands a big right hand. Grove trying for a guillotine but Munoz gets out. Grove goes for a guillotine again but Munoz survives. MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-American Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Muñoz plans to use pressure against the taller American Kendall “Da Spyder” Grove when they clash in UFC 112: Invincible this coming Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
“It’s both speed and timing. I’ve been going with a lot of boxers and kickboxers. He’s really tall so he’s going to want to keep me away. He’s going to want to keep me away as much as possible with straight kicks, by establishing his jab and working his angles.
