With the possible entry of three other teams and a number of players interested to join, the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) will stage its second draft this Wednesday in time for the start of the season-opening tournament on February 13.

Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank told BoxingScene.com that he is considering hosting a Manny Pacquiao fight at the new Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ in the Summer. Arum mentioned Antonio Margarito as a possible opponent.

Margarito is still under suspension for attempting to use loaded handwraps in his fight against Shane Mosley a year ago.

MANILA, Philippines – Brian Viloria will make sure Carlos Tamara flies home to Colombia empty-handed.

“I know how hard it is to stay as world champions, and challengers always say they want to take your title away. But I still want my title,” the reigning IBF light-flyweight champion from the Philippines said yesterday.

GM Wesley So played the white pieces for the first time in the Corus B tournament in Holland against GM Varuzhan Akobian of the U.S.

So (ELO 2656) has been expanding his opening repertoire and utilized the Queen’s Gambit. Akobian entered the endgame with a disadvantageous fractured pawn structure.
